Side view of the Clark Howell House. Notation on back: The Clark Howell House, circa 1840 Mr. Howell's house was a few miles from the town of Lebanon where he owned and operated a general store, with Post Office located in the store. He was also the postmaster. At that time this office served both the Lebanon and Roswell area. The first Post Office for Roswell was provided space in the Roswell Store in 1847, with Mr. T. D. Adams the postmaster. Mr. Howell's son Archibald was a personal friend of the Bullochs, and on two occasions financially assisted Mrs. Bulloch in saving Bulloch Hall. Linton Young, active member of the Roswell Historical Society is a great, great, grandson of Mr. Clark Howell. |
